Metadata tools are not detection-evasion tools

Removing embedded metadata, including C2PA Content Credentials, EXIF, IPTC, or XMP data, does not guarantee that a third-party platform cannot independently identify AI-generated or AI-edited content. Many platforms use content-based analysis that does not rely on embedded metadata at all. We do not claim otherwise anywhere on this Service, and any statement that appears to promise "undetectable AI" or guaranteed label removal should be read as an error, not our intent — please report it via our Contact page.

A C2PA manifest is not proof of authenticity

A detected, validly signed C2PA manifest confirms the manifest itself hasn't been tampered with after signing — it does not independently verify that the manifest's claims are true, or that the underlying content is authentic, unedited, or non-AI.

Tool results are best-effort

Metadata parsing, AI-signal detection, and privacy risk assessments are based on automated, best-effort analysis using open-source libraries. They can miss data, misread malformed files, or flag false positives (particularly the AI-tool keyword matching used in the Metadata Viewer). Do not treat any result as a certified or legally definitive finding.
